How bad would it be if you outstayed your welcome in a restaurant so they came and clamped your nipples?

No they didn't? What are the height/size requirements?
The signs weren't in great places! None on the entrance to the car park!

All SIA licensed clampers have had to be trained to:
Know when to clamp and when not to clamp
Understand the legislation concerning vehicle immobilisation
Behave in a responsible manner
Provide effective customer care
Avoid, resolve and defuse conflict.
The conditions of the licence state that any vehicle immobiliser must not clamp/block/tow away a vehicle if:
A valid disabled badge is displayed
It is a marked emergency service vehicle in use
When a release fee is collected, the vehicle immobiliser must provide a receipt which should include:
The location where the vehicle was clamped or towed
Their name and signature
Their licence number
The date
If motorists are clamped on private land, they should first ask to see the clamper’s SIA licence. If they don’t have one, report them to the SIA (08702 430 100) or email info@the-sia.org.uk . If the clamper won’t release your car you should contact the police.
If the clamper does have a licence, and you feel they have behaved in an inappropriate way, you should first take the matter up with them. If they fail to resolve your complaint, you may have a case in civil law against them. You should contact your local Citizen’s Advice Bureau or Trading Standards Officer

off hand i cant remember the exact requirements or if it was just a "code" the clampers were supposed to stick by but your local trading standards could tell you more but i think signs should be at eye level and not 12ft up in the air and visible without using a magnifying glass
isnt it funny how the police dont seem to get involved unless its one of them getting clamped oh sand a quick search on google about clampers came back with another story from doncaster about a clamper holding a 3 year old kid hostage till the parent came back with funds to release car

Cheers frorth info guys
They definately weren't approachable & Im pretty sure the SIA won't want anyone doing that job who's violent towards the public
Might write into the papers, but I can see a reply being written by the people who own the car park writing in a response saying well don't park there then
Maybe a less specific small letter might work better, then if anyone sees it & feels the same they can add to it

iirc You're not allowed to damage the wheel clamp; but if it can be removed withou breaking/damaging it then you're at libity to do so.
I know of a couple fo people who have deflated there tyres to reduce the rolling radius enough to get the clamp off without damaging it
