even more random then that it appeared after my video! Unless youtube tracks videos that different IPs watch and has linked the two together cos people off this site have seen both?

Exactly what I thought just demonstrated the fact you constantly have to be changing gear in a Tdi... couldn't even hit 60mph for the demonstration

so? since when has what speed you can get to in gears been a measure of a cars performance?
a 106gti will only get about 5 mph more in 2nd
plus if you notice he backed off anyway

steve all I was saying was that, in a race most tdi's are constantly having to change gear as they only rev to about 4500 rpm... also generally to do the same speed (due to revs) you'll have to be in a gear more than petrol cars... etc
What I'm saying is, If I'm accelerating from 0 - 70 mph, I'll finish in 2nd at 7800 rpm, your probably in 3rd or 4th gear... so you've done more gear changes and got longer gear ratio's to turn (due to low revving engine).
TDi's are sweet for in gear time's ... for example 4th / 5th on a motorway, they'll just pull and pull... but off the line acceleration (say 1/4 mile they're not brill... I consider your video example off the line style speeds - hence my comment.)

Steve do you know anything about coding new dash pods?
Got my maxidot dash in but can't get it working.
Speedo doesn't move, revs are wrong, fuel guage is wrong powers up and the rest of the functions work though.
Spent hours at it to no avail.
