I owned a 205 GTi, 1992 1.6 (115bhp), got it for free, bodywork was immaculate, just needed a new starter motor, and a full service, was graphite grey with 1.9 wheels and the green interior, leccy windows power steering. Was such a cool car only mod was a piper 3.5 inch oval exhaust, was pretty nippy and not much went wrong. one of those cars youve got to own in your life so much fun, not the quickest but combined with the handling makes a very fast road/track car, just watch the back end, can be very twitchy, Had a VTS at the same time and the 205 was more reliable, but wasnt as quick and I thought the VTS edged it in the handling stakes

sounds like a good move forward.

miami blue gti on anthracite 'goodwood' styled 1.9 wheels would look
i always liked the 1.6's interior better than most of the 1.9 half heather too
