This does work
but not on all diesels. Some VW diesels with fancy pumps won't like it. My old man ran on fiesta van on cooking oil for years and years
Was his method to mess around and blend it all in the garage/shed..etc
Or was it like my friend's been doing and put a bit of diesel in and rest with oil?
just veg oil
no diesel

LOL!
Your dad is a very wise man, just goes to show none of this mixing is required, I think my mate still adds his fivers worth per tank of oil to keep his nerves at bay!

Its not actually illegal to use it if you declare it and pay the tax on it.
Although The UK govenment have placed a tax on vegetable oil fuel making it almost as expensive as petrol this tax is 22p per litre.

There are ways to do it properly, such as dual systems where you start up on normal diesel, then run on veg oil, many due to as said, in winter the temperatures mean the veg oil is even thicker so can have problems with starting. There are also a heater mod, to warm it up a bit to combat this.
as said also some pumps dont take too well to it, same with new fancy electronic diesels, wouldn't fancy fucking up the injectors on a nice new car.

why is it pointless, if you get friendly with a chip shop owner and get oil for free, then you pay the tax off 20-40 per litre, it work's out alot cheaper than nomal diesel

why would using cheaper fuel make you a skank..
that's like saying using normal unleaded instead of super, because it's cheaper, make you a skank?

Plus your car lets of less harmfull gases into the ozone layer, making it not just cheaper but greener.
and im sure the smell of chips everywhere would be much nicer than exhaust gases

Im running the crap corsa diesel on it. Im running 100% cook oil in mine and it runs perfect and still makes 50bhp (atw) on the rollers. It did run a bit rough when i first did it but then I added in some copper fuel line that wrapped around manifold to pre heat. After 5 mins of running it runs spot on, but when it gets a bit cooler I shall mix it with some diesel. Ive also managed to get 300miles out of it so far an still have another 40litres in the tank.

Works better on mechanical diesels than the newer ones apparently. Don't know if that's a load of crap or not.

Running it on veg/sun whatever works oil is the future
Better for environment and saves your money to save for a awesome car.
Wouldnt call it skanky at all. wouldn't you like to save money? *confused face*
Best thing for long journeys from what I've been told, I'll certainly be using it once I've finished the house as a run-around.

I'd not put anything apart from diesel near my car.
An old corsa maybe but not a newish car.
Actually, only diesel from a garage as well, i've seen a lot of adverse effects from using stuff from a dodgy source.
