there are no excuses, we got exactly what we deserved out of the game - which was fuck all.
I dont even know where to begin with trying to explain it. Im sure some people (and ALL the media) will blame the rotation, and to some extent it did go too far with the likes of Leto starting. But TBH the main reason is NOT ONE player playing well. Torres, Gerrard, everyone was shite. Sissoko and Crouch inparticular.
Just glad it was in the group stages and we have 4 games to turn it around. But if we play like that again this season then I expect us to get hammered a few times.

TBH I havent seen us play this bad for a long long time. Pompey was bad. Brum was worse. Tonight was just a joke.
I know Rafa will get the blame, but you look at the team out there tonight and you expect them to give anyone a decent game, they just didnt turn up.
Gerrard needs to pull his finger out of his arse, Crouch needs to fuck off to the circus and the rest of them need a smack round the head off Carra to wake up and start playing.

I still think he isnt fully fit TBH. Last good game he had was the Chelsea game, he then had his injury problems and forced to play for England when not fully fit.
Whatever it is, he is meant to be a worldclass player, but wouldnt get into a championship team off the last few performances.

No, I do think it works, as has shown by the two CL finals in 3yrs. And now we've a bigger squad it should also work for the league. Its just a case of the players on the pitch actually performing....which they arent doing...not one of them!
