It won't be anything slower at all. I've raced an XE in a VTS, and it was necl and neck. Then I jumped in the XE, and it was the same.

i need hardcore pictures of standard gti's! when did the leather fetish come into play in them?
gotta be that yellow or china blue paint but cant be too fussy...if i go black again i might scream my black corsas done my head in! polish it and looks great untill the day after.
Any easy tuning to be done on these gti's then?

GTi's benefit from breathing mods. Get a pugsport 4-2-1, an enclosed induction kit, a decat, and a remap and you will pull away from XE's.

hmm interesting that sounds still cant see betting an XE with it...
but its the feel of the car i want really will have to test drive woteva i get i think before i buy it.

My GTI had a power loss problem that nobody could trace One day the power dropped a bit and it didn't rev as smooth as it did etc

Also the gearbox was notchy but they are all like that and even my VTR is like that now.In general not bad cars bit the 206 has had it's fair share of horror stories.

yeah, but they tested it with a payload and passenger to sneak an insurance group lower than the vts

I remember reading 8 seconds too

Then i drove one and thought bollocks that! Easy 7 seconds dead with just one person in the car.Suprised a good few cars in mine.

I'd say that was spot on.My VTR is meant to be 10 seconds ish but it's a lot quicker than that.Must be 8.5 secs maybe 9.

will be looking for a standard one i think...wud like the gti but VTS' go for less with less milage on them from what i can see...just a decision whether to get rid of the corsa in december or keep for another year now...

So the guy reckons his 106 Gti makes 144bhp?!?!

144bhp my arse!

If its a 2 prong head engine its possible it might make more than the quoted 120bhp but it wont make 144bhp with just an ind kit.
