if i repair this engine then it will be getting another full rebuild if it needs it as there is no telling where the shot has got to. ive got a few bits still from the last rebuild lol, altho i could do with changing the rear main anyway.
the ideas of selling the tb's and putting in a let have crossed my mind

I had my rocker cover shot blasted but must have been cleaned by the guy who did it because i didnt and mine was fine. Then again i had other issue which fucked mine up!
Hope it gets fixed (or LET'd)

only thing is, either way i go with engines (this or a let) both are gona need a rebuild. i'll get the sump off 2mo nite (hopefully) and see whats what inside there n get the head off and looked at propperly as i really hope it can be salvaged

How small is the shot blast?, why can't it be cleaned off? or is it really small you can't see it all?.

the sump is now off, and ive removed 1x big end cap and 1x main journal cap, and it doesnt look too bad. the engine is still gona have to come out and be rebuilt again tho, and gona have to get the head sent away to be checked out.
will get some more pics up soon

i think it was cought above the baffle plate in the camcover. o well, its an expencive mistake to make but ive learnt my lesson the hard way. i wont be doing it again in a hurry!

pics were taken before i cleaned them up propperly. the crank looks ok and the bearings dont look too bad. might leave the main journal bearings if the rest are ok and just replace whats needed

shells are clearly buggered, crank may get away with just having the journals polished. otherwise its a regrind with bearings to suit.
to get the lifter out try putting the head in a hot dishwasher (80+ degrees it will clean the head but it will also heat up the alloy head fatser than the steel lifter and it should free it up, if not just drill a hole in the lifter and use a puller to get it out. or try welding on (tig) a small nut on the face of the lifter and thread in a bolt to get it moving.
