15 MPG is optimistic
It looks like it needs the rear lip spoiler then
My dodge comment was aimed at 8.0 litres and 500bhp
Saying that, 320bhp isn't exactly great is it. Thats V6 3.0 territory, 2 less pistons and 1400cc less..... Mad.
Seth, reason not to buy. At traffic lights, you really will be racing Corsa and Saxo sub 1.4 engines You may be comfy, but the amount of fuel u'll use trying to beat them off the lights will cover the cost of another car..

Daimo, it's not supposed to be a balls out power machine, it's a cruiser, it doesn't need a million horse power.
You know as well as the next man that BMW aren't crap at engines. They intended for this to make 286bhp (they could get that from a 3 litre straight 6 years ago), it probably could make more, but wouldn't do they job it was meant to as well as it does.
310lb/ft for the V8, 225lb/ft for the six, I think that explains it all.

It's a limo for sitting in the back of. The V8 is designed to be smooth and have a bit of poke for autobahn cruise speeds.
Though a lot of people fail to notice that cars aren't just for driving up Santa Pod quickly.

I personally would want to go faster for my 15mpg. It's not value in that sense.
Nice though. Colour is right and it looks later than it is.

The BMW 8 Series (chassis code BMW E31) is a V8 or V12-engined 2-door 2+2 coupe built by BMW from 1989 to 1999 with an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h), although with the limiters removed top speed was estimated at 186 mph (299 km/h). A common misconception is that the 8 Series was developed as a successor to the original BMW 6 Series in 1989; it was actually an entirely new class aimed at a different market with a substantially higher price point. A new 8 Series cost around US$100,000.
Worldwide production ceased May 12, 1999, with 30,621 built.
BMW is rumored to have plans to revive the 8 Series name for a potential "four-door coupe," much like the Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class.
