For the above reason.

I think Carson & Foster are excellent keepers and may well become better than Gordon but he's been awesome for about 4 years now

So he has been top class in a second rate league Where as Carson (and Foster) have played for longer in the Premiership, and the Championship which is around the level of the SPL.

And as for value...already mentioned Carson is going to break that record in a month.

Neville is finished, was the best for some time but i very much doubt he'll get to that level again.

Richards is one of my favourite players but i'm Rangers fan

I honestly believe Hutton is as good as Micah Richards

Both are fast, strong, good defensively and good going forward

Yeah but when the teams you're playing against are second rate, with second rate players (which is what the SPL is) then the shots arent exactly that hard to save.

I mean half the SPL is probably about League One standard, and the other half are Championship so its not like he was playing against decent forwards.

They are one off games Hammer, you only have to compare how far English clubs get in those competitions compared to Scottish clubs to show that over a few games they are the much much much better teams.

I suppose possibly Celtic and Rangers would be in the Prem, but thats about it, rest are shocking sides at best.

Totally disagree with you cosmo, he was up against the best footballers in scotland, not amazing players but they know where the goal is ffs

Obviously i've saw Gordon more than Carson & Foster so that would sway my decision towards him.

Yeah, but that is like saying thE Turkish keeper who we put 8 past for Besiktas is the best in his league. He can do well against the crappy players who he comes up against and probably shines through as a good kepper, but then come up against top class forwards and he has a howler and lets 8 in.

BTW- Im not saying Gordon is that bad

Scott McDonald just came from Motherwell, he's our top striker and he's been doing it in Europe and scored the winner against Milan. We also have Caldwell, Wilson and Scott Brown.

Rangers have Thomson, Whittaker, McCulloch, Webster, Weir and probably a few others that started out at 'league one' standard and they've already beat Lyon and Stuttgart.

If you took the best League 1 players you're not going to assemble a team even close to being capable of doing that.

Imagine if this was done years ago, Giggs on the wing surrounded by players of equal quality

Gordon isn't that spectacular, well he hasn't been for Sunderland.

I wouldn't start with Owen either.

Obviously the ones who are better than the shocking quality of the rest of the teams. Much like how players get bought by Prem clubs from lower league sides, etc.

Carson is clearly better than Gordon I'd rather have Alan McGregor than any England keeper.

I can only imagine that Gordon would be the only Scottish starter. But I would expect Hutton, Ferguson and McFadden to be in the squad.
