Yeah. Agreed value is something you pay extra for. So you are guarenteed that amount if it's written off/fire etc

yea, just because you says its worth that doesnt mean that the value is agreed.
With agreed value to have to submitt photos/evidence before the policy is taken out and agree on a value with the insurance company

It must be surely, id think it would gradually get less aswell as the car ages - £15k is alot for erm that

i suppose it would depend if the car was modified or not.

A standard car would depriciate over the years.

Where as a custom modified car like this and ed's for example may not so much as there is more value in the modifications than the car.

Possibly i dont know im guessing

but thats the point of agreed value. They do. Its not just the modifications as such, but all the man hours that have gone into making the car.

Ash's car for example here. If he were to right it off. The amounts of man hours that would be required to make another idientical car (eg all the smoothing) are all taken into consideration in the value of it

Yes, but think about your house insurance. If you've got a 5 year old TV, which cost £750, you get £750 if it's nicked, not £200 to buy a 5 year old one, it's the same if you have a decent insurer.

The £15k isn't about the sale value of the car, it's about how much it would cost to replicate it, which is why Paul H has an agreed value of £5k, but his car wouldn't sell for that...

The value of the mods on Ash's car won't be any less to have done now than they would have been 5 years ago.

Why can't you claim off the insurance company now?
