Looks like a nasty frontal impact, SRiTs only sell for about 4500 in good nick anyway, so it probably doesn't take a lot to kill one now

just finished work on the car for the night, stripped the interior loom from the astra sri and fitted it into the van, pedals are in, dials in, light switch in, cables are run tot he rear of car but not plugged any of them in yet, fuse box fitted, steering colum etc fitted, all earths conected!

also removed the engine bay loom from the sri and started to fit to the van,

problem....... 3 pin plug going to the power steering plug on the sri and just 2 pin the the desil van, so gonna swap that just incase!!! being as i have both may aswel change it now!

going well tho, still planning to be putting engine back in on monday evening i hope

took loom from the car on friday night and transfered it to the van along with pedals and steering colour, changed the lot over so everything matched and was corect for engine, fitted dials etc

started fitting engine loom sat night also then came accross prob, power steering pump had one extra wire in conector compared with van one,

saturday afternoon swapped the powersteering pump over!

saturday night i got back to shed at 12midnight, to get engine ready to fit, swapped bits over like gearlinkage fitted, etc etc

then at half 12 decided to try fitting engine on my own, got home at half2 and engine was sitting in place!

no time of anything on sunday, then got to shed at half 3 yesterday afternoon and cracked on well, got shafts fitted, suspention fitted properly and tightened!

fitted abs unit and break pipes, wired up, fitted fuse box and replay box, radiator on, intercooler on, water pipes on, then wanted to try starting it..........didnt have a battery tho, wanted to try it so whipped the one of my 106 ........

battery one, turn key..........airbag light on but nothing else.........oh dear i was starting to worry! ALOT

had quick look round, had fiddle with the big conector on the bulkhead, realised i had not tightened that bolt up, tried car again and had few more lights on dash but not turning over etc.......

eventually found my 10ml socket and tightened the bolt in conector.........

as i was doing it, interior light came on, hazards came on.......... it beeped, all good signs!

then went to start it, turned it over onces, on second turn over it fired.......... little loud cos no exhaust on it! well happy cos i was getting worried!!! loads of smaller jobss to do now, exhasut, handcreak, seats, belts etc etc etc etc etc
