Before you go for the Corsa, I'd definitely consider looking at the Clio.
but u havent driven eather so how wud u no
Because £16k is a lot of money, and I would want to make sure I made the right decision. No other car, of the 'small hot hatch' range appeals to me, other than the Clio or Corsa.

they were supportive in all the right places, but after about 30mins of driving my lower back was in pain.
I'm not disputing they weren't uncomfortable, but was this may be not because the seats were so good, that you were sitting right?
i.e. my dad used to have a Cavalier, with pretty standard seats in terms of the technology put into them. Plus I was at school at the time, sitting slouched and what not on hard, plastic school chairs.
Then he got an E39 5 series, and of course, the seats were better. They gave me chronic back ache, because when sitting in them, my back was actually in the correct position, which it wasn't used to?!
They are deffo uncomfortable, I test drove one and felt this imiediately and also was a passenger in Adam F's VXR on the way to Edition 38 show in Little Billing and coupled to a very harsh ride I wouldnt want to do long journeys in one tbh. The seats just feel really hard which doesnt help.

I feel people just want the Corsa VXR to fail when they have absolutely no experience of it at all.

No its not I have driven a VXR for for 15 miles on motorway/country rounds and the Clio 197 on the same exact roads as the dealers are near enough oposite each other.
And yes due to the short gearing the 197 is horrendous on the motorway compared to the VXR I'm still getting used to the in your face rev's of my 182 on the motorway.

I think its just a natural thing for Corsa seats to be uncomfy and give lower back issues.
Corsa B's done it
Corsa C SRi done it
Now the Corsa D VXR...
Its a trend
VXR seats look the most supportive and comfy if on a track day though....

The seats on the one Redline had were very firm indeed if you sat on the anti-submarine ramp.
I banged my ass getting in as the seat was a bit further back so I sat on the middle of the base. I would imagine if you slouch you'll sit on the same bit.
It was otherwise comfortable enough although I didn't do loads of miles.
