Ive heard of people just throwing their tickets in the bin if its not registered post.
Whos to say it didnt get lost in the post?
But with you speed its probably likely to be hand delivered in an armoured truck!

Seriously, if the details are wrong, which they are, the ticket can't be valid.
If they send a letter, you can explain that your car is an Astra, so it can't have been you and there must be a fast Escort with false plates on...

Try pepipoo, someone on there will have been in this situation before.
I'm 90% sure that the ticket is invalid if the details are wrong.

Hello Mate,
I'm here now.
Ok, when it happened to me... I went past on a indicated 110 mph, and then they put their blues on pulled me over and said I was clocked at 101.4 mph. (so firstly you may not of been as quick as you thought you were).
They then had a word with me (I didn't sit in their car).
I personally don't remember being shown a video or anything, but I may have?
The piece of paper I was given was just a producer that said 'Excessive Speed' on it. At the time of being pulled over, I was given no ticket or anything like that.
What did happen though, is that they A ) told me I would be getting a Court Summons for this B ) They did give me a police caution ... "You have the right to remain silent, anything you do say or do may be given in evidence".
Strangely they called my car a 205 lol... but didn't help, as I had no badges on my car.
Ok... now here's the facts.
They must of given you a Police Caution ("you have right to remain silent etc")
If at no point they did not say this, then your not gonna get anything.
Secondly, I would of thought they should tell you - YOUR exact speed you were doing. That is, unless they were going to do you for dangerous driving or some other crime. Mine was on a motorway, so falls under SP50 (Excessive Speed on a motorway).
If they did have video evidence, I would of thought they would of shown you it.
However.. I find it strange they took your license? was this the card part? I never had to hand mine over, but then again I was caught by Middlesex police, and I'm obviously from Thames Valley.
In u2u tell me exactly what happened. like word for word / action to action.

Inaccurate NIPs - The "Slip Rule"
There is a "slip rule" that allows the court to modify small errors (such as name/address of the keeper) due to typographical mistakes. Serious errors cannot be modified, and will invalidate the NIP.
* If the registration number is incorrect then the Defendant need only complete the Section 172 Notice attached to the NIP, stating that they are not in fact the registered keeper of the vehicle whose registration number is shown on the Notice.

Id say that putting the wrong car is a 'serious error'

i got pulled over on the a1 in a courtesy car at 90mph. the police officer asked me to come in the car and watch the video and asked me what was wrong with it. i was honest and admited to speeding, and he said yeh you were but what about your brake lights. one of them was out when i had to brake for a speed camera. changed the bulb there and then and he let me go. it was my lucky nite.
if they had the video then i would have thought that would have done the same

Oh yeh... ^^ if they gave you a Verbal Notice of intended prosecution - i.e. "You are gonna get done for this"
and a caution like above..
Then you have UP TO 6 months for them to send you a court summons... after this your fine... but sadly you have to wait UP To 6 months to wait for anything to come.
Mine arrived around the 5 month mark, so I thought I was clear.

The piece of paper he has is probably not a N.I.P but a producer like I got.
A notice of intended prosecution (n.i.p) can be verbal... i.e. 'You will be reported for the offence'... therefore writing the wrong car on a producer slip is irrelevant.

i was expecting to hear something like this, its quite common for them to do this, they sit right on your tail, im always wary of omegas and volvo estates on the road. tell them you were threatened at a bar and were worried for your own safety you decided to make your way to a police station at speed because you thought the person at the bar was following you in an omega

But would the video not show how the officer was driving backing up Jambo's idea it was dangerous and forcing him to drive such like?

They only need to show the video of the offence ... so they probably wouldn't show the tailgaiting before jambo sped off.

he probably thought i was drivng fast cos my exhaust was loud when i was driving past him (not speeding i may add) in the next lane cos my car is loud they probably thoughti was "flooring it" as he so elequantly put it.
