Fair enough mate, sorry to hear it, It comes down to luck in the end.

Sorry to express my views, it just doesnt help that I nearly got rear ended by some cunt that was doing 120+ on the M4 today, I just wanted to overtake someone in the middle lane.

people jumping on the speeding bandwagon and will just turn into another debate about speeding, when its acceptable and raising the limit. Tbh, you are better off just waiting to see the outcome or actually ask a police officer.

but its not up to me what you do

Mr Policeman, told me that it'll most likely be 5 points and a big fine.
I'm going with 6 points and a big fine.

Tbh I was under the impression that over 100 would be a ban usually? And at the folk who continually come back with the same things in each and every speeding thread

Im just sooo paranoid about getting caught, that im stuck in my ways. Im scared of coming round a corner on a motorway at 90-100 and being faced by a "safety camera van". Thats why im like I am.

109mph for 1.5 miles is only 73 seconds.

I'm sure you've done that before.

To be honest, I don't think he's owned a car capable of those sorts of speeds. I used to have a 1.2 16v Corsa and it took over 1.5 miles to creep up past 100 mph... Then you had to have the foot flat down and a down hill to get 110 mph (if you were lucky 114 mph on the clocks )...

I can understand someone who has to go through that much effort and push their car that hard, thinks doing 100 mph is a big deal... But most cars will happily get to 100 mph and sit at 100 mph as smoothly and easily as they do at 70 mph.

I quite often going to and from uni accelerate up the slip road to the motorway (knowing it's the only place without police in bushes or camera's) - hit about 110-115 mph before I get to the end of the slip road, and then slow down / filter in and maintain a steady 75-85 mph there on along the motorway

a prolonged average of 109 is perhaps a tad excessive. I get worried about being nicked whenever I do over 100 mph these days (for prolonged periods of time).

but I wouldn't cry that societies failing because someone has done it. In fact most people on the motorway cruise at 90 mph these days.
