Ok new law In-experianced drivers have a speed limit of 70mph

Experianced drivers do not have a speed limit as they are not a danger to anyone at those speeds

Mate please GTFO

i'm just stating the obvious to you. yes he's a bellend for driving like that but we all do it. you're lieing if you say you haven't driven well over the speed limit.

that video was shocking, it wouldnt be so bad if it was on a 3 lane deserted motorway, but past juntions where cars may pull out because of oncoming traffic=asking for it

Top gear has already told us why accdients happen.

DONT STOP IN TIME

His only human.
If I had a 2.0 16v corsa I would have done the same as him at some point but only if it was very clear.

I got an srad600 and Im going to do 30mph everywhere

I think the video (being crap) makes that look a lot quicker than it is...

isn't that only just 125-130 mph on the clocks... probably only about 120 mph for real looked like they were going quicker in the vid, probably coz of poor quality / compression and frames per second.

Regardless of how fast it looks like he's doing, he's still doing 120mph in traffic on what looks like a dual carriageway and that's insane.

Misuse of speed kills, and I'm pretty sure that falls under misuse. It's far from the only reason accidents happen, but it's certainly one of them. I'd hope that most people who had driven at those speeds had done so in much safer conditions.

Yeh I wouldn't think speeding like that on a dual carriageway was clever.

Was just stating how fast it looked in the vid, I thought wow they're doing at least 140 + ... then noticed corsa clocks only goto 130.

Erm... Why is that video proof of the danger of accidents? Yeah he was in excess of the speed limit.. But the vid clearly showed that his path was clear and safe. So all you bandwagon safety folk...... GET A GRIP AND STFU

Except there were other people on the road, and other people are capable of pulling out into another lane without looking. Let's face it, you're not going to be able to do too much about it at 120mph.
Since when was safety a bandwagon? I like not being dead, so I enjoy safety on the roads. I figured most people enjoyed not being dead?

lol eck i agree its not proof that accidents happen, but his path was far from clear or safe.

i do those kind of speeds every now and again, but usually only on a clear motorway, and then i take it up there and come straight back down, he is holding it at stupid speeds for ages, not to mention its in a car that wasnt designed to do those speeds and doesnt have the chassis or brakes to cope in change of events at those speeds

As eck said the bath looked pretty clear, i wouldnt hold it that long on a two lane. but i do not agree that doing that is why accidents happen.

Especially when you get people doing 50 in the outside or middle lane of a motorway, then people have to undertake to get anyway, that sort of behavious is one of the factors in causing accident imo. I've tapped into the back of someone at under 10 mph not had an accident (touch wood) when enjoying the corsa. No point spending all that money on a 2.0 corsa road legal everyday car, if you are going to stick to the speed limits all the time and not have the odd boot. If you get a conversion you will be driving it hard and not just on track days.

He was actually driving sensible when the accident happend, a 206 pulled acros on his about a car length infront of him, he braked hard, the back end locked up and sent him off the road and down a very big ditch.

which leads me to my previous comment about the car not being designed to do those speeds or have that engine in it

how can you come to that conclusion? Although in a certain degree you may be correct, which you usually believe you are. If the back end locked up then thats a common fault in the rear bias valve isnt it?

that its bollocks steve. if you brake hard in any car you can easily lock up... it is inexperience/panicing that made the back end lock up.
