Asked him if he could do summat about how small everythign iso n screen but he coudlnt find a way to 'un-distort it'... he suiggeste dif i cant fix it then try and return it as it snot really fit for purpose iof i cant make out anyhtign on screen

What is the native res of the screen?
Can you not just adjust the sizes of everything in Display Properties - Appearance tab?

I had to install drivers to get my touch pad scroll bar to work. Was rather annoying until I got it working.

1920x1200 I think
If I adj the sizes everything goes slightly distorted and nowhere near as sharp as std

He had to fit a whole new touchpad system and top section and keyboard

Yeah, because the screen res is still the same but the image is stretched to fit it, so you get smoothing as a result.
The only exception would be if you have a res which is exactly half in both directions? That might be too chunky though.

Yeah we tried that, was sharp but everythign was huge as u say 
It takes the piss tho cos MSN and IE are just stupidly small, and I literally cant make things out!
