I'd NEVER own another saxo, when I had the 106 GTI the wife bought a saxo VTS and tbh the gti was soooooooooo much better in all departments, hers was the MK1 model right enough

supposidly but they felt so different to drive.
The driving position is horrid on the saxo, I sat really high up, so high up in fact I had to tilt my head slightly. The 106 was nice and low with loads of room for my head, bear in mind i'm 6ft tall
Handling wise my 106 was loads better, it felt more sure footed than the saxo
Finally its all about looks imo
The GTI look a milllion times better than the saxo and its doesnt have as much of a bad image

saxo looks loads better imo, and ive heard more people say the saxo is by far a better car to drive over the 106, my mate had a gti and now got a saxo likes the saxo loads more.

I know the saxo is very "chav" but if done nicely I think looks just as nice if not better. Ive driven a vts but not a 106 might have to do that then

Of your choices there I'd have the clio. There's always a risk though that any car you get could turn into a money pit.
I think jr has the right idea.

Go for the clio, you know you want to. We had a clio 182 traded in recently and I thought it looked really good.

Thats a serious bit of difference you've got there mate
The price difference is HUGE for a start
The most reliable would probably be the honda altho I dont really like them. As for the astra it is a nice car but kinda bland for my liking, nice interior tho
The clio is a great car but there VERY fragile for such a new car
The saxo/106 is a bit of pot luck, I searched for months before I bought my GTI and in the year I had it I NEVER replaced a single broken part and it was so reliable. The same can be said for the missus VTS but I found the GTI a better car
The missus old 106 GTI was a great lookin car but was a complete money pit, everything that can go wrong with them did and it cost us an absolute fortune

I'd say CTR Gav. Can almost garantee its the only one that wont be a money pit with Honda's excellent realiabilty. That would be my choice out of the ones you've got

I think the astra is easily the best looking, but as everyone has said the honda will win on reliability, a mate has got a saxo only 30,000 miles and has had a lot of problems with it.

Yer price difference is alot. TBH if I got a saxo/106 it would be replaced in a year or so with the honda or clio probably anyway
