Take this mans advice
Doesnt sound like you want serious stripage and tbh i dont see the point losing just little bits of your interior, its going to make naff all difference to anything apart from just not being there, which is pointless.

I was going to removed the back seats/rear parcel shelf/cards/sound deadning ie completly strip the rear then I thought
"Sod it, it's not a track car and I will miss the comfort and couldn't be doing with the extra road noise"
As said, it will make no diff in a diesel. I'd leave it in mate, load of hassle to put it all back in etc come sale time.
My take on it is that unless you are completely stripping the car front and back, like jr then I wouldn't bother.

You telling me that removing the rear seats and stuff that is easily replaced "to keep his mum and dad sweet" would make any difference in a 1.5 TD?

It wouldn't, I never said it would?
1.5 TDs are slow anyway, and as previously stated, unless it is a track car and he's fitting a better engine and he is going to the extent of stripping it like jr, DaveA etc then there is no point. I'm saying that you just wouldn't notice it in a diesel and I wouldn't notice it in a 1.6.
Like I say, stripping a car to the extent of keeping your mum and dad happy is not going to make a diff, be it a 1.5 TD or a 1.6 Sport.

no but it was (not sure if it still is) checked as part of the MOT
Nope, Clio 182's don't even come with a spare now.

I'm unsure why you want to loose weight but still want to fit 4 people in? if you want to notice a difference, you need to gut it. Removing spare wheels, headrests etc isn't going make the SLIGHTEST difference!
