Thing is, if this post was the other way round...
Say swedge was driving normally round a bend and someone else completely lost it in the wet and slid into his car...
we'd all be going 'what a twat that other person was for driving too fast for road conditions'... most likely people would be saying 'apply for whiplash too!' etc
just seeing the other side of the story. I know if swedge had just smashed into say my mum - i'd feel bad for her, and if she had a bad neck / back as a result I'd definately make her put a claim in.

Airbags only go off if you hit hard enouth & usually square on front!
The bit behind the wing is structural isnt it, thats the bit that would write it off, the rest is just panels
I done this to mine :-

Can hardly see an astra sliding into a 4x4 resulting in the 4x4 driver having whiplash and needing an ambulance.
tbh I dont see the need for police, they come and just stand there and wait for the car to be moved. AMount of traffic james iv seen cause the police just stand there and look at the car thats hit a sign or sometihng and dont even attempt to move it off the road

What else can the police do apart from direct traffic?

Why not because a 4*4 doesnt bend so the driver takes even more of the impact?
Wasnt exactly a low speed crash was it!
Yes we do all pay more insurance because of people who claim whiplash when they don't have it. But young lads also pay more insurance because some young lads drive stupidly!!
Sorry to hear about your accident btw!

^^ well said imo. There's no reason or proof that the woman didn't have whiplash. She unlike swedge would not of known the impact was about to happen, so wouldn't be bracing for it.

Wouldnt say its been a high speed impact, mine looked worse & happened ot 10-15mph. The astra probably looks worse because the large 4x4 has crippled it.
Ambulance possibly a bit over kill.

I never said it was high speed. I had a corner impact like that in a corsa at 20 and didn't look half as bad as that! every accident is different!

id dont have to be high speed at all to wreck a car,
i remember comming out of work one day and a guy called Dave was driving his grand cherokie out of the yard, pulled out like normal, and whent to turn right at the bottom of the road, brand new MR2 going i wouldnt say more that 20mph didnt see him with his indicator on and went down the side of the car....
lets say cherokie had a small scrape and a little ding on the bumper..
MR2 didnt have a front wing, or a rear wing, or a ns door and the roof was caved in... total right off and that was at 20mph or so
