I already searched the threads and I just thought I'd post this up as the previous threads were a bit old so thought I'll see if opinions have changed and it seems that it's 50/50 C20/X16

I fancy the power of the XE, but fancy the lightness and tuneability of the X16 combined. I've had a few ideas off jr for the tuning of the X16 (cheers mate :thumbs and I wanna do that. but then I think for the money to tune the 1.6, I could have a C20 dropped in. So damn hard lol

Tbh I have been out in a c20xe corsa and I my self own a Tb'd 1.6 sport, Im also building a c20xe gsi corsa, at the end of the day it what you want the car to do. My 1.6 on Tb's is my every day car, the c20xe will be my track car. the 1.6 will humiliate allot of things on the road, purely down to acceleration and handlerling ( gaz coil overs) the 2.0 was our choice because its cheap and fast fun at the end of the day for a track car.

Warren.g's tb'd 1.6 isn't too great judging by his thread the other day

Wonder what a tb'd c20's like on fuel I'm still gonna do it tho I'll be proud if I can get lower than my dad's 17mpg

a light car with a tunned tb'd c20xe could also be fun, its horses for courses bhp per cc the 1.6 does seem to do very well when tuned however that extra 400cc is an easy way of getting good usable power

Where's this 40kg's in weight difference come from?

Me and my mate lifted Monster's X16XE engine fairly easy on to some tyres then onto an engine stand.

2 of us didn't stand a chance moving my mates C20XE.

There feels like there is a lot more than 40kg's difference.

Also owned both. (converted my 1.6 into a 2.0) and loved every second of it.

You do notice it being heavier at the front but the smiles when you floor it soon make you forget

So it might have had 125 bhp and 115 lbft.

What's the torque of the C20XE engine? I know the book says 156bhp but what are they really doing on the rollers?
