I think if you are handy with a set of spanners or got deep pockets they are worth a punt...can't beat the feeling like death every time you hit the loud pedal!

Crobs was an exceptionally quick car round Brands but I dont thnk he will disagree it did cost him a fair bit to get it to that standard.

As for cheaper than running scoobys etc in terms of petrol consumption I see the point but in terms of repairs and general maintainence I daren't say there is a lot of difference....

I dont think the diff and the phase 3.5 and hybrid turbo and numerous times he had the gear box off worked out cheap tbh

Not to mention the brembos and general ods and sods...the thing is you all think yeah 1500 buys you a LET and bish bash bosh it'd great there are sooo many hidden costs which you dont realise...how many LET owners had to keep replacing CV joins wheels bearings and the odd sensor? All adds up

I think its down to any cliiosport being a highrisk car...Greenflag wont even insure Clio Cups, a clio Cup was an aditional £80 on top of my 182

I think they are just all driven by cunts

I would take a clio cup over a LET corsa anyday.

I have built a few LET corsas and never liked them, good straight line fun but lack anything else.

Errrm, yeah! James, bodywork has only set me back £1500 first time round then £2000 for the respray.... Beyond that, I've lost about £2000 in audio kit in the thing and then about, hmmm, £3000/4000 on the engine bits/repairs etc. all 'ish' figures. This rebuild was, for a brief moment, going to be £10k!!! but bottled it, which I rarely do and have gone for OE spec bits.

Bit off topic, think I may have found out what that noise was on the track day, I had a broken guide had sheared half way down and dropped about 3or4mm(aswell as 2 other cracked ones!) but that niose was probably this moving up and down with the (shitty)valve....

Fadders i spent little on repairs... Second hand parts are redily availibe cheap. Ok so mine wasnt tuned and had a std turbo but the reason i say they are cheaper than scoob etc is...

Bushes, intierior gubbins, parts in general are piss cheap. If you know where to get them. My turbo broke and i spent £80 + £20 fitting to get it fixed, find me a scoobaru thatl be that cheap!

I still say bargain. If you know what your doing (most dont including me 1st time) but u can do it so cheaply.

hence the popularity tbh.
