hmm... actually if it's coolant system... it may work... providing you flush it back out again. just removes all the rust / limescale from inside the pipe work.
I know i would have to do that, Thats why i said flushing the engine just doesnt sound like a good idea that why i asked first, Ill go and get the proper stuff for the job from halfords

dont bother mate just pull the radiator off and stick a hose in the top of it, make sure its not high pressure and just let all of the crap drop out the bottom, job done

Hosepipe in expansion tank, bottom hose off rad. 1 bottle of Fairy Liquid.
Pour in fairy every now and then and just leave hose in. I ran the engine for a while as well. Does no harm and cleaned all the old mayo out.

fairy liquid is probably the WORST idea as it foams up and leaves a residue.

It has salt in it too.... In fact, most multi action dishwasher tablets have salt in them too. I think that's probably a pretty bad thing to be running through an iron engine block. Especially when you go to the trouble of using anti-freeze to prevent corrosion.

Not something I'd be trying myself!

tbh, this is better for oil in water situations
