3rd one down looks blue
Prefer the later spec wheels than the 'fan blade' style.

i have a puma 1.7 on a 02 reg with 14k miles and i thought id hate it, being the girly image and that.. but the more i drive it the more i love it, and another thing i think i must have a good one because it goes pretty dam well, theres not alot init between me and my mates focus st170. so it was a nice step up from the corsa sport 1.6

The 1.7's are a great drive. Not that slow and good fun to drive. Interior is a bit naff but seating position is nice. I really like them, but they are a bit gay.

TBH i havent worked on one thats rusted to buggery. and trust me i have worked on quite a few.
they are punchy with the 1.7 VCT will pull just over 70 in second (which is the same as a ST 170) have never had any real reliability problems.
only things i have come accross is that you need to keep them serviced regularly. (like all cars)
you can sometimes have problems with running rough which is quite offen due to the VCT solinoid. gets gummed up due to the car not being serviced regularly.
also you need to change the plugs religeously at 30,000 as ive seen them have problems with wipers not working, heated screens not working, dash not lighting upthings along that line.. this is due to the electrode gap being to big and spiking the system. new plugs fix it all
id buy one.

Good advice there. I've seen loads of adverts with them having surface rust on body, not underneath.. I'd keep it serviced regularly in that case, doesn't sound to suffer from any major issues which is cool
Sounds like a decent car for sub £2k tbh...gonna have a look at a few, should be cheap insurance too being 24

hardly depreciate at all really, they're so rare to see on the road that they usually hover around the same value.
for 4-5k it's cheap if you ask me

insurance is cheap for the frps my insurance is only £800 fully comp with 3 points and 2yncb, not bad for a car that will do 0-60 in 7.9s
