my mates dad is a member and the guy is in a huge legal battle at the moment as when you sign up, you dont do it personally, you sign up your car instead, so if the government close it down they can lawfully take your car too.

He is obviously getting round the Govt. taxes that other petrol stations are paying somehow, I cant see how really as even if its from outside of the country he'll have to pay import duty/taxes which would push it right back up again.

basically he's supplying it as cost rate, so not making money off it..
he was selling it tax free at first, until his tax back claim fell thought, so had to add thr tax onto the cost

But in June his draw-back claim was unsuccessful and so the duty was added to the price on the petrol pumps.

Petrol stations DO NOT price up petrol from 55p a litre to what it is for the masses

no it used to be 35p but went upto it 86.9p with tax, then start's from monday at 55p, so there will be no tax on it then, and will be trying to claim it back again

I just phoned the Organisation office in London and they said if the GOVT. back fire they cant lift your car seeing as your not doing anything wrong other than purchasing the fuel. The most that can happen is a max fine of £1000 for evading duty charges but this is subject to the person in charge of the outlet and not the buyer.
They are sending out a joining pack with more info on it.
As it stands, the Tullibody station is currently on 53p a litre.

Good idea - if you only sell to members then you probably don't get treated like a criminal and told to pay before you dispense like a lot of places around here.

if its .55 use 37litres its £19.25
Currently its 1.08 so 37litres would be £39.96
so a saving of £20 a time
that cant be right can it :S as then it would only take 5 fills to recoup your money
[Edited on 22-05-2008 by Dan Lewis]
At todays prices (average of £1.15), you'd only need 166 litres or so. Thats about a months worth for me
Less than 3 tank fulls in the Laguna, so that's probably a month and a half for me. Well worth it.
