Any tint on the b pillars forward is illegal. Thats not to say you will get points, They have to be really quite dark to get 3 points.
Mines are fairly dark on the MINI but are only worth a £30 fine or a defect notice.

NO tints are legal on the front atall!
You may think they are legal in respect that you cant get points but are still endorsable with a fine.

I can guarantee that her tints are not 30% standard from factory.
Standard tints range from 3% to 7%.

when i got stopped (for something else) they checked everything, including getting their little gadget out to check tints, and he said that 30% was ok, anything more was illegal.
i dont have stick on crap/film, the glass is actually tinted.
at least i didnt get a fine for them

Mines are 33% and were measured by the 'tint master' hand held device.
Any less than 70% light getting in and you get 3 points.
There is no way mine are only 3% darker than yours

NONE are legal, Im telling you the 100% truth.
Up to a certain % you can only get a fine/defect notice, Then after that your onto points for driving an un-roadworthy veichle.

Dont know about that copper, But all tints from the B pillar forward are illegal. I can guarentee it.
Fire up a picture, Cos not even X5's/Range Rovers come with windows that dark at the front as standard.

How can you guarantee it?

because i know for a FACT that any tint on the front is illegal.
Depending on how dark they are depends if its points or a fine, Even if its just a £30 fine , Its still illegal.

How do you know it is FACT? If it was fact then Danielle would have got a fine?

ok here's a fact that you can not argue about really.
had 50% tints on my corsa. took it to vosa after it had been repaired and was made to strip them off as they violated some act/law.
not allowed any tints in front of the b pillar due to factory glass already having a slight tint to it (it's not clear glass, has a small tint to help with reflection and other stuff).
got asked about them by a copper once, and pulled a few times for other things, no one else said anything about them so it's possible to get away with them quite easily - hence why celebs mostly always have them on.

Cos its on posters in every tint place you go in.
Not really, Mines are eligible for a £0 fine yet iv been stopped and checked and told to go on my way.
Same way that someone on here got stopped doing 96mph, Got a lecture then told to get out his sight.
Just cos its illegal doesnt mean they will go down the route they should with it.
Never the less, Its still illegal regardless of the outcome.

But surely he would have at least told her that they were illegal?
I'm not trying to say you are wrong but reading up on the VOSA website would suggest you were allowed a light tint (70% bla bla). So if thats the case, then what is illegal about it? As it would pass an MOT?

the copper tried getting me for anything he could, in the end he got me for size of lettering on the number plate, he got a ruler out and measured it
