Look at the pictures with your eyes open, and read the writing in the listing.

The mods don't add anything of relative value to the car. If he can get someone to pay that for it then fair play to him, but I can't see it can you?

That doesn't matter though, because it's what people will pay that counts at the end of the day. You put into WhatCar that it's a 1.6 Sport and it'll tell you like a grand and a bit, but you add on everything that's been done, all the hard work that's gone in and the quality of the work, then there's no way you'd sell it for standard car prices.

Indeed. But that car is an exception to that. You try buying that interior, you'll spend thousands for it

Thanks for that. I feel the same. Some people may not want to pay the money for it and that is fine. If someone wants a car that they can take to a show straight the way and enjoy then i think its a good deal

Problem is though it does matter, you can't just add the cost of your mods together and stick them onto your asking price, they have no effect on the relative value of the car irrespective of the quality of the work, how much the telly's cost etc.

If i add the costs of the mods on to the value of the car i would list it at £26,000

Yes £26,000 is over the top, i will never get it. But i dont think £7,500 is a bad guide price.

I dont want to see the car split.

most modifications actually de-value a car anyway as you are appealing to a much smaller market.

Standard cars sell better to the older generation and first time drivers,

A show car like this would attract young people who want a ready made one off show car and are willing to pay for it.

My mate faye who bought the famous kellies pug payed about 9k for it even though it was just a 106 gti. theres people out there who'd pay what hes asking.

No problem mate You're spot on as well, if someone out there just wants a car that they can go and take to PVS or something, then it's ideal and saves then spending £26k for the car and the mods
