Lovely cars RS Turbos. I still have my Fiesta RS Turbo.
They are not really everyday useable cars. Unless you find a totally originally well looked after standard example. But then would you want to use that type of car everyday.
Highly modded ones (250+bhp) are not all that reliable unless you spend big bucks and even then gearbox's will fail etc. Unless you go to gearboxman and spend a good chunk of your wedge.
I was in the ford scene for quite a while and also experianced running one of these cars. It can get expensive.
Great fun but a handful. I wouldnt touch one under 3k for sure. As they can be a money pit. Unless your a proper RS enthusiast i would advise you to spend your money elsewhere.

It's got all the right bits on it but I'd advise changing the cam to a Newman one.

I wouldnt be buying a standard rst, i'd be looking for something in the region of 200-250bhp depending on price. How many xe corsas are around now..loads, how many decent rst's left..not many, allready had an xe nova now i want a change.

Had a few RS's myself! carnt believe they still command the same prices they did 10 years ago! Had a ERST S2 mecurey grey f reg in 1998 paid 2.5k also had a ERST cab think i paid 2k'ish for that and finally i had a FRST running well over 200bhp god it was an awesome car!
i ended up doing a straight swop for a cossie:

Yeah CAN be fast.Unless you spend shit loads on them your just playing with an old shitbox IMO.
The one you posted up sounds alright though BUT 170 odd brake in todays world even with a lightish car is jack all.

You don't have to spend a massive amount of money to have a quick one, you just need to spend the money on the right bits.
170bhp in a mk4 Escort makes for a car which is fast, there's no two ways about it, and you need to spend about £500 to get that power.

i had an s2 in mercury grey, i miss that thing every day.
not reliable, dated.
but was running 190bhp, was shit off a shovel, most fun ive ever had in car, and they still look the bollocks to this day imo.
if i was to get another, id spend £4k plus and get a minter, but tbh for that money id save a few more pennies for a saph.

Just looked at the pictures and read some of the ad for that one and sorry, but I wouldn't touch that with someone else's barge pole.

I've driven a fair few now and until yesterday, I'd not driven one which actually felt 'right'
I've had a go of a nice one.
