Should have known tbh, at least Capello's show of 'who's boss' wasn't as foolish as dropping your best right mid and the teams poster boy.

MAYBE hes thinking Rio is obv the better defender so let him just concentrate on defending but as someone (jiz?) said, it means hes an automatic pick now

I don't get why people seemed to think it would have been Ferdinand? The guy isn't even captain at club level, there was only ever going to be 2 options.

Hindsight is a beautiful thing eh, did it stop Beckham being captain for years?

I dare say it may come across that way but I actually said to people at work that it is rediculous that Ferdinand was the bookies favourite, OK he would be a great person to refer to if you wanted advise on dodging drug tests but IMO you should be getting someone that does the same role at club level.
The bookies don't normally get things far off, I am amazed he is vice captain TBH as the 2 most inspirational candidates are captain at club level.
When you talk about leaders on a pitch, then they are the ones that excel for me. I don't think Ferdinand is remotely in the same category. Terry and Gerrard are both die hard, Ferdinand is so loyal and committed that he gets paid for almost a year to sit on his arse for his failings, whilst the club supports him. He repaid that by holding them to ransom a contract. Wow, what a model and moral professional.

What an absolutely ludicrous rant
Terry and Gerrard get paid over 100k a week as well remember, they may both be products of their respective academies and diehard fans of the clubs they captain but they're as much a footballing mercenary as Ferdinand is.

What the fuck has how much they get paid got to do with the price of fish?
They are not someone who would go where their pockets take them, as is the case with Ferdinand, otherwise Gerrard would have gone to Chelsea a few summers ago. If Ferdinand is of that calibre, why was he being a twat with a club that loyally supported him for the fact he was too busy moving house or some bollocks, yet was able to answer other mobile calls IIRC?
Are you one of those fickle ManUre fans that opted to boo him during the time he had the club bent over a barrel 'Write off 30m or give me the pay I want' that has a short memory and now thinks he is holier than thou?

It is on topic. It is about the England captaincy, I am saying why Ferdinand shouldn't have been concidered, surely you can grasp that?

That's strange, a ManUre fan thats not from Manchester? I thought Glasgow was in Scotland, not in London. Ho-hum.
EDIT: Perhaps I am not awake, I quoted my previous reply instead of editting it!

You have been a busy boy. Did you apply lube for the Everton starting 11 or did you 'take on' the reserves at the same time?
