Biggest inlet ports of its era in 2.0 16v. Followed by the redtops.

Something like 35mm on the Mi, and 32 or 33mm on the XE. OTher 2.0 engines of this time are smaller.

Great engines, but more ££ to tune than the redtop, not as many tuning options.

And the cylinder head is mounted the "right" way if you're gonna throw it on carbs / TB's

seems a shame to break the 306 I've just got though

Suppose i could look out for an already converted one though. What box is best on them?

1600 gti box for acceleration is the best.

It doesn't actually, an acusump kit helps but still doesn't completely solve the problem either.

Not sure which way it happens in but the fact that it happens at all sucks.

Lucky B's top tip for the day.

You can actually mix & match the ratios from 2 BE boxes to give a set of ratios that aren't a million miles away from the Quaife ones.

I had a citroen ZX 2.0 16V same engine as the Mi16 I suppose and the engine was killed due to oil starvation and that was giving it the beans on the motorway

I was told a baffled sump would have saved it but couldnt work out why as the car was goin in a straight line lol

I think the problem relates to the head not allowing oil to drain back to the sump quickly enough or something... i'm no expert, my pal is the 205 Mi16 man.

He's actually put together a TU 1.6 16v 205 for this season which which is quicker than his Mi16 205.

So the 205s used alot for rallys/track etc could potentially have shagged engines if not carefull?

Correct.

An oil pressure gauge & large warning light could be a valuble asset.
