Took it back to the Bosch Service Centre - "naaa, that isn't the clutch release bearing".
"Well, can you check the gear box oil level etc".
"Yeah, no problem". "The oil level is correct, but we'll put completely fresh oil in again to see if it helps". "There you go, see if it quietens down. I'm sure it's nothing to worry about".
<-- my face as driving away.
I go to my usual mechanic, not a 'technician', he sits in car.
"Definitely clutch release bearing but it isn't really bad".

Too soft mate, I'd be like sort it out and let me know when it's done, give me a car and don't piss me about.
I hate people who try and fob you off, don't let 'em bother, always be the stronger minded one, especially when they've charged you 280 smackers!

My trusted mechanic has said if they aren't prepared to sort it, then get them to sign my invoice to say I've been in with a complaint and if it goes wrong, then they'll fix it free of charge etc. I am going to go back tomorrow - might even get them to speak to 'my' mechanic etc.
Or I could just call the Bosch Service Centre company. Tempted to also go to another Bosch Service Centre locally, if they say clutch release bearing, then get them to phone where I got it done

Also tried to fob me off that only about 0.5litres came out of the gearbox when it should be about 1.6 litres. Ball shite I reckon as I have never seen oil laying anywhere where I've parked/on my drive.

You could have got vauxhall to do a bad job for £280.

Well, a new clutch kit didn't solve it.
The garage replaced for free and it's still making the noise.
Seems like it's gearbox related - possibly input shaft bearing or what ever it's called. Damn.
Going to drive till it starts giving me grief - just an annoying noise at the moment.

Yes, as it's in the clutch kit so it has been replaced twice. Either they can't fit a clutch to a Corsa and have done it wrong twice, or there is something else wrong.
Just seems strange that when I took it in, it wasn't making the noise, now it is, and still is.
They did say there was only about 0.5 litres of oil in the 'box though.

thing is if theres been 0.5l in it before the clutch was done. it definetly shouldnt make noises with the right mount in. the box wsant making noises before but is now. sounds very very random tbh

My thoughts exactly. I thought (and although I have no mechanical knowledge it just makes sense) that if there was too little oil in there, it'd make noise and possibly stop working altogether. Plus I have no idea where it has lost the oil 'cause there is never anything where I've parked etc unless it has been a very slow leak.
Ahhh well, I can't prove or disprove it wasn't making the noise when it went in, and they replaced the clutch again (so £280 in total) so can hardly complain.

if theyt havent fitted a new one id be asking why when you paid £280
All that is detailed on the invoice was 'Clutch kit' and charged me £78.30+VAT for it. This was a Bosch Service Centre, I thought I was going to get a good service
The one in Biggleswade?

Yeah. They've replaced the clutch completely free of charge so I can't complain. It's still making the noise so fuck knows.

Not release bearing then hmm I'm sure i said that a page ago.
Next question have they put the correct oil in it? I have seen many "experts" put atf in vauxhall boxes because the vauxhall oil is red (like atf). however its not atf it wants normal gear oil EP80/90

I've always considered them a little dodgy.
They fitted my aftermarket exhaust and I got no reciept.
Hasn't stopped me going there since though

tbh, there is no shame in that at all.
I do notice all their invoices say 'As required', to prevent come backs etc.
Anyway, this isn't about bashing the garage - they have done good in replacing clutch free of charge.
Still got the noise though. Very weird.

if they were telling the truth then this will be whats goosed your box....
if the oil had not been topped up when they did the clutch in the first place then you've driven it... well.. i'd be back down there saying if its the gearbox then its your fault for badgering it up when you did the clutch as it didnt have a problem before it went in...

No. The car went in with a goosed clutch the 1st time. They emptied the gearbox. Only 0.5 litres came out. And said this could have caused the dodgey noise, when I went back with a complaint after they fitted the new clutch.
I would have thought if the gearbox didn't have enough oil, it would have started causing problems, knackered clutch or not. And that the problem wouldn't arise with a gearbox full of oil
