and what corsa_scotty says is wank, both corsa and astra look ''chavvy'' but who cares, if he wanted something sensible he would go german and boring. overall the corsa is a fun little car with bags of power for what it is and you will have a perminent smile on your face, as for the astra im not sure as ive never driven one..
Cheers for the input. I've driven an Astra but only 20 miles or so. As said previously, i won't be buying it for speed. I'll see how i get on with my bosses corsa over the weekend i think

If you have them both at your dealership drive both, park them next to each other and decide.
I bet you go with the astra

expensive mistake but its the best time to do it as i guess all dealers want need to meet targets and its its the credit crunch.
even though what ive said is all great i would probably go for an astra as personally i find them more appealing but why stretch yourself when you can have a really nice car and have money left over?

If you like a car enough you will find the money to run it

i'd say go for the corsa.
near enough same speed to 60. give or take half a second.
looks great as well and aren't as big so you can actually park quite well.

At the end of the day, if it's really stretching your budget, then you can't afford it imo. Go for the Corsa

To the guy that said they sound like a normal car when being driven - my brothers corsa pops and gives a nice grunt when booted. Sounds very nice :-)

no lol fair enough it will have grunt if you have your ear on the bonnet you may hear the turbo spool but with a standard exhaust it should not pop. only vxr iv heard pop was a nurgburgring due to the sports exhaust, normally popping is caused by over fuelling.

astra at the end of the day its still a corsa be it a vxr or not my fiances sister has a corsa vxr in black nice car quick (not as quick as the cavy v6 though ) but think the astra looks more grown up and if you were speaking about what car you have an astra always sounds better than a corsa
