They want to shut down one of the sorting offices in Oxford because over the last 18 months they've been on strike 16 times. And now they're going to go on strike because they want to shut down the place because they go on strike so much. Sounds like sense to me.

very early, and an afternoon one, now it's just the one, we usually get the post around 12ish at mine

i am a postman as pick4d says.
you expect to have your post early at christmas? you do realise, postman have rounds that encompass more than one road right?
oh an btw you will get your post early on tuesdays as its a light day and saturdays early because i start at 5 and am usually out of the sorting office by 8 amish.
normal weekdays 6;15 start and they WONT let us out the office till 9:30 to 10ish.
the reason you used to get it early is the postie would start at 5 every morning go out come back and do a second delivery this was not finacially viable so was sacked off by the royal mail.
trust me your postman is getting to you as quick as possible because hell wanna get home, he just wont be allowed to go when he wants.
also i agree packets shouldnt be doorstepped were strictly encouraged not to and were disciplined if were caught doing it.
