I'd be happy they admitted they fucked up an are sorting it... not alot of garages would do that!

yeah it is good of them but at the end of the day i pay over 400 quid a month to finance the car and another shite load on insurance to drive it.

now they've had the car about a week so thats 100 quid on finance and 40 on insurance and neither me or my dad even have it in our possession.

So what would happen if you had a bump due to your own fault and it required the bodyshop to have the car for a week while it was being repaired??Or if the engine in the Focus went bang and it required Ford to have the car for several weeks??Would that bother you??

Thats what you pay insurance and finance for.Your insurance pays for the accidents, the warranty(included in the finance) pays for work to be done.

slight different between sideskirts and the engine matey.

You can't honestly be even slightly suggesting that Ford should give you £140 for having the car a week, can you?

It's the way of the world Ben, if something falls off, under warranty and it takes a while to refit, or the part takes 2 weeks to get in, tough titties, it happens and no dealership in the land will refund you the finance and insurance you've 'lost' in that period.

Its not the garages fault tho... you got to remember they are there to help YOU when your car has problems.

Trust me when i say they are the last people you wanna piss off.

If we get nice customers in work then i do everything i can for them... soon as someone is a cunt and starts moaning that when we stop going out of our way to help.

Just think you've got to accept shit does happen.

It's a manufacturing fault not Ben's. Think what you are saying before typing.

It's a manufacturing fault which has been fixed. In fixing it, they've damaged something and are paying for the replacement. I don't see the problem here at all.

What i think Ben is saying is it has gone in with one problem and whilst being in there it has got another problem which was caused by one of Ford's workers.

If the accident from one of the workers hadn't of happened the initial problem that it went in with would have been fixed and he would of had his car back by now. But due to the extra work having to be carried out he hasn't and they have had to have his car longer.

Although they have rectified the problem (or in the process) it still is an inconvenience for him which most people will be able to sympathize with him that it is an inconvenience not having a car.

but he needs to appreciate they have admitted it and are repairing it.

Would he have prefered them to give the car back and say

"oh tuff shit we broke your sidestrip, never mind, at least you have your car!"

The insurance was just for comparisons sake.

You pay insurance, you have a smash, the car gets sorted for free.......
U get finance and a warranty, something breaks, the car gets sorted for free....

Same shit.

I was without my BMW for 2 weeks as BMW couldn't get an alternator tensioner bolt for 7 days, then when they did get it, it was wrong.

It was inconvenient, I had no car for 2 weeks, but I carried on without moaning about it and expecting BMW to give me 2 weeks finance and insurance, or any form of compensation at all.

These things happen.

They do happen, you know thats just life. I don't think Ben is asking for 2 weeks finance back or anything of the like.

The trouble with us (brits) we like something free and we will try and get something free, like Ben is doing.
