The most central place is roughly west Reading, somewhere between there and Newbury.
As far as I can tell, this is roughly the border of SC.

Bump. I suppose ideally we're looking for somewhere in the middle of Didcot, Newbury and Reading, if you imagine a triangle on the map.
The Madjeski place should be quite good for coming from MK, as it's on the east side of Reading.
If anyone else has other ideas in that area then I'm all ears.

Well, it's only rough I was trying to go by the stats page and it was a bit tricky I don't know where the boundaries of the postcode regions are

Didcot could be a good idea, I've only ever been there once, though, to the power station, so I'll send Fonz a u2u as he lives there. It depends on how far south people are coming from as well. I don't mind going for up to about an hour, and Didcot is within that. I'm about half way between the dots for Witney and Kidlington on the map.

I've sent Fonz a u2u, just awaiting a reply now.
Trying to get a meet in a good location at the right time for everybody is never going to be easy, but we had 4 people at our last meet, so it needs to be more than that, because to be quite honest, that's not very many, and it's barely worth it for that turnout. Once the location and then the time are sorted ,we'll work out who's coming.
As long as people that say they will come actually turn up, then we'll all be happy.

That's lame mate I suppose we could do a weeknight one when it starts getting lighter in the evenings again, but I think most people want to do a Sunday.

It's just a case of waiting on other people at the moment
As far as Sundays go, we could do the 25th of this month or the 1st of Feb. This Sunday is fine for me, but I thought it might be a bit short notice.
Let's try and make this simple:
Options:
Location
Reading Madjeski stadium
Didcot/Milton services on A34
Newbury
Date
Sunday 25 Jan
Sunday 1 Feb
Sunday 8 Feb
Time
1pm
2pm
3pm
Later than that (say what time)
Everyone say what you prefer/can do, and we'll get it to work.

I think that everyone who's expressed an interest in coming is in the top half/ two thirds of the region (basically Basingstoke upwards), so Guildford is really far for some. It's about 1hr 20mins for my end, and from MK.

Didcot as a whole isnt much!
if you wanted a pub with "good" food and large car park in town there is only one option The Ladygrove Hungry Horse in the Ladygrove estate. i wouldnt recommend this. firstly you will get lost in the esate! secondly it is in a housing estate and the only entertainment that is out of town and not the football club so will be busy, and thirdly although a fair size car park will not be the place to rock up.
if you were to go anywhere in Didcot for a CS meet i would suggest the Milton interchange on the A34 (Didcot turn off at Milton trading estate)
This is a service stop for the A34 and as such has a BP, McDs and a resturant (Brewers Fayre) with a Premier Inn attached. this is very resonable food which i have enjoyed on occasion. as a hotel and resturant there is ample parking.
both are pushpinned on the link below
Didcot map
not sure what my availability is. given recently car + ice = write off activities i will be searching for a comfortable mode of transport
i'll keep my eye on the thread thou

Maaate Time to borrow the Nova again maybe? Bring that and we'll bask in its glory
If you reckon that the services will be good then I'm game. I'd come down the A34 anyway
