this is so easy, a 99 spec integra type r dc2, the best handling front wheel drive car ever made, i like the ukdm's but most prefer the jdm model, you will find a good example 1999 car if your patient for 5k, or a uk ep3 civic type r if you are strict on the age of car you want. 5k will buy you a tidyish 2002 or high mileage 2003, reliability is no issue and then just down the road when you have saved up some more pennies, you can kpro, mugen mani & spoon bpipe to create a sleeping monster.

Just had a better thought, alfa 156 2.4 diesel. On the alfa forums, some of them have got 270hp out of them from a FMIC and a custom map

omega v6 ?? prety quick. not bad on fuel either. get elite, has everything you could possibly want. including a blind that comes up out of the back parcel shelf

thats the only car that i can think of for the money that will

do 40+ all day long on the motorway
be comfortable on the motorway
nippish
and cheap to tax
and from 4-5k

if not walk as you seem fussy
