Either Nath or Hammer.
I've only managed one Luton game this season, hardly a super fan over here

You'd be above Ste, but then Ste would make me change the top 5 into a top 6 so he doesn't fall off the list altogether.

someone who doesnt go to any games might be a massive fan he just cant get to games?
Being a fan is about being involved though, going to games. Pre match pints. Being involved. Not turning on the wireless and reading your clubs forum.
I'd argue people that go to games are always going to be bigger fans, as they go the extra mile to get tickets, and get there.
Mr X goes to 5 games a season. Knows everything about the players. All the stats. The clubs history etc....
Mr Y is the same, but goes to 40 games a season.
Mr Y is always going to be a bigger fan.
what if mister x works weekends?

My point still remains. That just makes it very unfortunate. Doesn't mean you aren't a big fan.

i see your point.
but not everyone can make the games so dont see why they are ridiculed
unless they dont make the effort to get tickets

It's more the effort thing tbh. You're not being ridiculed either. Just the way I look at it. I don't know the criteria to being a fan. Just how I look at it.

which is what i said on page 1, you can be a massive fan but not be able to get to games, doesnt stop you beeing a massive fan, but its genrally regarded fans go to the games, just the way it works

My “Claim” for what’s its worth..
Been a season ticket holder for 20 years (I’m 24)
Seen Town play in Championship, League 1 & League 2
Been to over 75 grounds to see us play.
I’m admin on our most popular fans forum
I helped set up a supporters group dedicated to generating a better atmosphere at games. Have regular meetings with the Chairman & Managing Director at the club
Currently in the process of setting up a Halifax Branch of our Supporters club with the help of a couple of others.
I also agree with what Nath says with regards to Mr. X & Mr. Y. People can be “big” supporters without attending every game. Everyone has their own personal circumstances that have to be taken into consideration. It’s the folk that reckon they are massive fans but don’t even attempt to get tickets that piss me off.

there are fanatical supporters, supporters and there are followers, only way you can be a fan and not go to games is if you live miles away etc etc, if not you are just a supporter or follower, you definatley have to give your time up to be classed a true fan. I'm a follower, I keep a keen eye on the results etc and want them to do well as it gives the town a buzz (it is a shit town so its nice for it to have something positive once in a while!) That's my interpretation anyway.
I consider myself more of a football fan in a way that I spend my free time playing it and have an interest in it, I know quite a lot about the game as I've spent my life playing it, playing manager games and footie games, and I read the news paper starting at the back.

Danny and Nath are good supporters. Cosmo and Hammer too. I stake my cliam with:
2 relegations
5 FUCKING SEASONS IN THE CONFERENCE
Never seen a promotion
Club barely surviving including one day where we saved ourselves with a bucket collection
A chairman that tried to make us bankrupt to cash in on the ground
Another chairman who changed our name to York City SOCCER club and we had chequed flags on our shirt
Have worked for the club for free doing photos for the programme etc pitchside.
Hardly any atmosphere or big games now
Travelling to away games like Southport, Altrincham and Rushden on my own becuase no-one is interested now
and still for some reason i support this club and attend nearly all the home games and some away and have done since i first went when i was 7
Its so depressing you people who support league teams have no idea (Well Nath will next season )

To be fair, you could have looked at the other side of Selby and chose Doncaster

We were above Donny when i started supporting York
We were Div 2 (league one) and they were perennial struggles at the bottom of Div 3. Then they went down with one of the lowest points totals ever and the chairmen set the ground on fire
Things have certainyl changed somewhat. That'll teach me for being a glory supporter (plus york is closer than donny for me)

You will beat them.....we have got Hull at home the same day.
Tough one to call, we may just scrape through so maybe a quarter final meet? Would be better to meet in semi's at Wembley tho

Ask them what they think of the club atm. Flags got banned, drums got banned. Only atmosphere is at away games now.
Home games its pretty much silent apart from the odd chant. York City FC doesnt care about the fans anymore as demonstrated when York were on Satanta, signing about how shit satanta was and our chairmen (or ex chairman) Steve Beck came and said the the fans "We need setanta more than you"
Fucking joke club
