I used to buy magazines like that when i was about 14/15. Without max power, i wouldnt be modifying cars today. Even though i do it in a differant style. So i blame them for the thousands of pounds i have lost on cars.
I buy a few magazines these days, not "modifying" magazines though. Total vauxhall, practical performace car and retro cars and all regulars. Sometimes pick up a random Ford or VW one from time to time.

I've got some Max Powers, Fast Car's and their Power and Style counterparts from 1993 and a load of mags like Top Gear, What Car etc as well..
All went a bit shit so got on the Revs bandwagon in 1996 and dropped off in around 2000 when that went shite an'all.
Not really bothered since bar the odd one or two if I go on holiday lol

I remember when I was 17/18, I got raped trying to insure a 1.2 16v corsa. Trying to insure a VTR was far worse enough £3800 was my quote .
These days I see on 106 forums, 18 year olds with 106 gti's as first car... wtf?
Because we were stuck with 1.2 16v's which were slow, we modded them to look better, as it was pointless modding the engine for speed.

I have to disagree there.. it is alot harder to get insured these days! The main thing is daddy paying the insurance.. kids these days are far more spoiled..
P.s who remember's revs?

I still buy it, then mag has definately changed, more product testing on there now, better featured cars, pretty much every show/event featured etc
Plus i had pictures published in it last year !
I havent bought Total Vauxhall for a while now, doesn't interest me anymore.. People are not wild enough in the Vauxhall world, even if they are, they never finsh the projects.
There is only so many 2.0 corsa and mk3 astra turbo features you can read!!
Although I heard of a 1000bhp monaro in this issue?

that sums up why i dont bother with TV anymore Rich.
Always a beige mk1 cav or a 2.0l xe nova stripped or a xe corsa. Never a 400bhp cav turbo or anyone doing any decent interiors etc.
Yawn tastic.

I only ever buy TotalVauxhall, Performance Ford or Performance French Cars. I had a stack of Max Power, Redline, and the other 1 they don't make anymore, can't remember the name now but the stack was as high as me must of spent a fortune only to leave them in my bedroom when I moved away.
