Yep - Kings of Leon are piss poor now as well imo- rock by numbers, very little imagination, rubbish lyrics, awful videos. Really liked them at the start but they have lost the plot imo. I can see why they are really popular though - they have nailed that Radio 2 friendly rock sound that everyone seems to go nuts for. I dont think their bad musicians at all- I just dont appreciate the middle of the road rock they are churning out at the moment.

Other bands everyone seems to go nuts for that I just dont get the fuss about- Enemy, Coldplay, Razorlight, Feeling, Scouting for Girls, Wombats. They all just bore the hell out of me - heard it all before.

All down to personal opinion though- If you like them then good luck- enjoy the gig.

Do you read NME and think obscure bands that don't 'sell out' are cool by any chance?

Lol - NME is absolute tripe - and its also the biggest fanzine for The Killers/KOL, Razorlight ect that you can buy so I dont know what your on about really.

To be honest I couldnt care less wether a band 'sells out' or not- all I care about is the quality of their tunes. If they are popular enough to make great tunes and get big sales then fair play to them. I couldnt give two shts whether they are cool or not.

Most of the bands I like are not obscure at all. But I do prefer bands who make music that isnt aimed at being watered down so it can be played on Radio 2, The Hits ect. Im into stuff like The Pixies, Nirvana, Pavement, Sonic Youth, Joy Division, My Bloody Valantine, Stone Roses, Jam ect.

Imo the best live bands in the world at the moment are The White Stripes, Radiohead, Muse and Mettalica

This doesn't surprise me, those are all bands that are cool to like amongst the hip crowd. Once they've had a couple decent albums and people start to widely acknowledge them you'll disown them then move onto the next up and coming thing.

They're better now than they ever were that's the reason they've won all the awards and are headlining festivals rather than being mid day filler.

Success = going commercial apparently.

What are you on about mate? Im 27 - ive been into some of those bands for nearly 20 year. I think Radiohead and Mettalica are fairly well known already? I assume your on the wind up.

They were headlining festivals before mate - I saw them years ago when their first album came out, and I saw them recently and imo they have lost their edge. Have you actually seen them?

Awards and sales mean nothing chap- for a start they havnt actually sold that many records if you compare them to the biggest bands in the world. What awards are you referring to? Macdonalds is the biggest selling restaurant in the world- doesnt mean it serves the best food. The Sun is the best selling paper- its not the best. The spice girls sold more record than Killers and KOL put together and have won more awards- doesnt mean they are beter musicians does it?

Just because you go platinum doesnt mean you are good- could just mean that 1 million people are as stupid as fuk
