This morning I sold my car, im so glad its gone! Nice one Mr Lee I am of course talking about the Hyundai £350 to throw at the VX now!
In other news, Gaz coilovers turned up today so slapped them on! while the car was up in the air i though it would be rude not to stick a nice filter in the airbox as well (you get to the air filter through the ps rear arch) That came courtesy of pipercross and car seems to pull a little better up past 5500 rpm now.
Also while i was routing around in the garage i found some NGK irridium plugs which i must have got for the silver one but never got round to fitting. Ive been meaning to get some as the car seems to idle a bit lumpy, after a post on VX220.org.uk it turns out you should ideally run irridiums once the car is mapped. So banged them in and what do you know, no more dodgy idle Will put some photos up in a sec....

tyers looking a bit past it on the front....
Gave the rocker cover a quick once over with the some gunk as well, no where near clean but loads better than it was. Also stuck a carbon cover over the header tank to stop it cracking.
Sorry for the crappy phone pics, proper camera is full of uni work!

Adam I know you had GAZ before do you not find them proper solid?
I read once on VX220ord that they were just rock solid and had very little R&D go into them?
This was agggggeeeeessss ago though

well, its just not at all. People will say they are but the car gives you so much feedback and feel, driving one and ignoring it is like turning the pages of a book without reading it then saying the book is crap. At speed you can throw some insane angles and pull it back without any drama.
Power delivery is really smooth and has real punch as you would expect, driving like a cock and planting it in 2nd round a tight corner obviously its going to step out, but if your stupid enough to drivie it like that, especially on the road then you deserve to stuff it into a ditch backwards imo.

I found you can adjust them from insane mega rock hard to full on boat softer than standard so maybe the early ones were crap I also dont think the car suits being lowered and stiffened on the standard geometry, need a geo setup after changing imo, its not like to make the most of it, its to make it work properly!
Ive no idea how much R&D Gaz have done on them but i think they improve the car loads once there setup properly

Lovely Adam, you have got me looking at them again and I can't afford one :@
In my dream plan of getting one i've also convinced myself that the turbo is better value for money not much more to insure either.

Had a bit of a car day today
first up, interior...out with the old-
and in with the new (ish)
Proper VX220 original Mats and passenger footrest. Also fitted some anti rattle door pins, the standard pin is slightly too small so the doors rattle over bumps and stuff, not anymore they dont! Little thing, but makes a nice difference, you can see the new ones are much chunkier
Also a group buy appeared on VX220.org for some custom top-hats, this is the standard nasty looking thing -
The new one is a bit bigger so gives better throttle response and maybe a few extra ponies-
Also i have ordered some new wheels today, should be here in a couple of weeks
