Got that around the wrong way I would have thought. On ApriliaForum when I used to frequent there. The Di-Tech engines de-restricted using the GameBoy Advance with a new map were capable of 65mph with no other mods and were fantastic on fuel.

I had a SR50 with a full Arrow pipe on, until I fitted the new rollers it had a flat spot and then shot up to 53mph, then the rollers were fitted and it was really quick all round but never went over 57mph.

Not joking there, Always ended up been an electrical fault aswell.

Theres the one I had, Never came out the right shade of yellow in the pics though, was a lot brighter than it shows there.

Had an Arrow race pipe, lightened rollers, fully de-restricted, new clutch springs, and a small rear reg plate on.

Seen mine the other day, Sat in the blokes garden who bought it looking a right mess, Wish I hadn't have sold it to him.

So they nicked the barrel, piston and pipe but left the rest to burn lol?

Yup, idiots!

My Performance Mods onit were,,,,if i can remember them all!

Horizontal Yamaha Aerox Engine Swap
Malossi MHR single ring - flat top piston 50cc cylinder head
NGK Gold Plug
TNT High tension Plug & lead
Hebo Crank
TNT Big & Little End Race Bearings
Malossi Carbon Reeds
Bigger Jets
Malossi Kevlar Belt
Polini 2-shoe clutch
Hebo Variator & contrast spring
Hebo Light Weight Roller's
leo Vince Chrome ZX Pipe - De-Restricted
Carbon Fibre AirBox - De Restricted
Malossi RedSponge AirFilter
Aerox100 Caliper's & Wavey Disc's

...Think that was about it performance wise...

Was at the time the fastest 50cc in my town (stevenage) got clocked at 74mph by a car, which isnt too bad for a 50cc,,,i had a Malossi Primary Gear-Up kit which wasnt fitted but never got the chance, which in theory would of taken me to 80+

Miss those good old days ...

See I don't imagine you being like that. I expected yours to be all camo'd up with black letters stencilled on and camo netting, with a LMG mounted on the pillion handle.

Heres mine...50cc Gilera Hak. Pic is pinched from Google. Absolute heap of shit. Had no end of problems with it. Mostly electrics cos it was Italian crap. Used to catch fire and the slightest hint of rain. Got very fed up of pushing it back from everywhere.

Also here is my bro's Runner 172. Loads of mods, big carb, exhaust rollers, custom paint. Great fun, couldnt keep the front end on the floor lol.

Them vents on the Gileria, did they actually give off heat at all? On my SR50 the radiator was at the front and I never understood why they never utilised some sort of venting to the fairing.

they arnt in the exhaust, you have to change them when you change the exhaust otherwise they ride shite, I rode mine for a week with the exhaust fitted and the standard rollers and clutch springs, it was deadly

Guess the flame was from the standard exhaust
Was a problem with the cat I think.

The rollers are just a weight connected to the crank housed in a variator which is connected to the clutch via the drive belt.
When you added different exhausts they worked better with higher revs so you added lighter rollers for more instant revs so the power from the pipe was instant.

I had 14.5g in the runner 172 for a good 93mph (speedo)
