aron i cant remember what the mpg was like, i was having a chat with Chrisbarnes when he had his sexy vr6 and he said that his mpg was about the same as my Z3m! 3.2! So i imagine it would be better than a vr6, however i doubt it would be massive.
Sand eel has a 325, he may be able to give you an idea

240bhp tempting? and thats just the start. ecu remap to 300bhp??? lol also you can pick one up for around 2500 or less. im going to try my hardest to tempt you! lol
im picking up a 850 t5 r tonight with the same engine! near your self tbh, im going to luton.
in my opinion, the bmw is very nice being a coupe, but. duno, its just a bmw. unless you want to start skidding the thing??
the VW in my eyes would only be worth having if its a vr6 or g60 just due to being what they are commonly known to be.
just my 2p

my input (a bit 2nd hand from someone i know with a corrado)
"Get a 16v corrado and you'll want more power a few months later, and they actually have similar fuel consumption to the VR6 in the real world.
VR6 will regulary return 30-35mpg, you don't need to thrash it to go fast.
Corrados are expensive to look after, parts are expensive and some parts don't exist anymore."
"Old BMW = Out of date"
"Old VW = Retro cool"
"90% of the time during normal/daily driving you won't notice if your cars FWD or RWD"

thanks kerry!
vr6 = 30-35mpg? surely not?
the other thing is that vr's are premium price compared to 2.0 16v's... can get a cleaner 2.0 for the money etc.
i don't need speed, but i know i would enjoy it, i do a fair amount of miles and need it to look after itself and not cost a fortune to run petrolwise.

The c70's are a lot of car for the money but the fuel economy is shocking apparently.
Interiors are also very grandad.

i'm at work at the min kerry - but will contact him later
i don't mean to bang on about fuel economy - i know a quicker car will always drink more... but i keep reading / hearing conflicting things about vr6 mpg and would like to know what's what before i just dive in and make a decision lol

there was a silver v6 version with red leather for sale near me last month... i was VERY tempted purely for the looks... but the reliability issues were the thing that stopped me lol

Ive had a 328i sport coupe and it was 1 of the best drivers cars ive had.Definatly not thirsty on the fuel either when driven sensibly and dosnt drink it when u fancy giving it a bit gas.
Definatly ALOT of car for the money, pretty hard to beat actually as an all rounder.
Dont pick a Raddo over a 328i sport. Both cars can be made to look nice but the BM will win hands down everytime.Slammed on a set of OE wheels and they are gorgeous. And tbh they dont look dated at all.
BBTB,Alpina527 inlet, free flowing exhaust and a remap will see you with a healthy 230bhp.
Its a no brainer really.
If you can,try and pick up an early model with an LSD,and for peace of mind try and get 1 thats been re-called and had the engine changed due to Nikasil issues.

i'm really only interested in a 'facelift' 328i sport - since they have nicer bits on them (steering wheel, split rims, m tech kit etc)
so do these not have an lsd as standard?
i'm looking at '97-'99 e36's to be honest.

The only difference between the 2 is the front kidney grilles. As standard they all have the Mtec kit and BBS splits.Only the 95 and very early 96 models had an LSD.The rest had ASC.

^^^ that looks really nice!! love those wheels...
i guess with BM's the OEM look works best doesn't it?
i do prefer the look of the facelift ones - plus the paint colours are better.

Yeah keep it OEM.Coilovers and a spanking set of wheels transforms them.
Alot of them are slammed on MV2s but im not a fan of they wheels.
Would prefer a set of M3 Sunflowers,Kontours or Motorsports anyday.Wider rears FTW.
I do miss mine it was fully loaded with full leather,18button OBC and digi climate control.Had near enough every factory extra.
Think they were about £30k brand new.Can pick up a minter for £2.5k.Bargain or what.
