Not sure, but if thats what actual players voted for then they are more stupid than I thought they were.

I don't think they give a fuck tbh. Probably get a letter and just write down their mates name.

I think the votes were done in January, if they havent been done yet gerrard is certain to win it
If they have i think vidic has got it
The others don't deserve it this year

Giggs has won it.
He has probably deserved it at some point in his career but he wasn't the best imo this season. far from it, he's only started 12 games
Vidic or Gerrard are the only two who deserve it this year. And considering the votes were done in January, had to be vidic i think.

Shocking he hasn't won it, his career more than deserved it.
In a season of no genuine outstanding contender I don't see much wrong with it, he's started 12 but he's played in over 30 for the Premiership and European champions as a 35 year old winger. Takes some going that.

That's the point though it's player of the year not for super sub, or 800th prem appearance etc...
Joke tbh.

Yep, it just goes to show, once again, what a joke the PFA awards have become. The writer's award means more now IMO and it shouldnt.
Gerrard imo has been the best player, Vidic was up until when the votes were placed, so one of those two should of won it by a mile.

Although I have MASSIVE respect for ryan Giggs, and have met him a few times and know his mum quite well, there is no way he should have won that award!
Bet he's a bit embarrased by it!
No idea how he hasn't won it in the past though!

What about Gerrard and Vidic? Over the season they have done a lot more. So have Torres and Ronaldo and they have been out for large chunks of games...

That's 2 and it's not as if either had a Ronaldo season.
There's several that could have won it so in the name of sentiment Giggs isn't that bad considering he should have won it a decade ago.

Ronaldo had an outstanding season last season, by anyones standards but just because no-one might have hit his heights this year doesn't imo mean giggs who hasn't even been a regular starter this season should win based on the fact he's played in the premier league for so long. If he should have won it 10 years ago, he would have imo. He's been a great player for many years but he should get some sort of life time achievement award (lol) not an award for being the best player this season when he quite clearly hasn't been.

Sentiment has fuck all to do with the award - I dont think Scholes has ever won it has he? So is it his turn next year? What about if Carra goes on a few more seasons and plays well over 600 PL games - should we give it him the year after?
IMO the best player at the time of the votes was probably Vidic, and taking into account the time since then has been Gerrard. At neither time has it been Giggs.

Agree with Gerrard or Vidic, but tbh, the whole thing is a farce since it's decided so early. Just makes the whole thing a little pointless.
Can see Hammers points though.
Over the course of a full season, as it should be, then it's got to be Gerrard really

Of course I know he wont, but my point is Giggs has only won it this season for the fact he has played so long at the top level and never won it, and wondering if in a few years other players will do the same? Scholes was a better example than Carra tbh.

I don't want to sound like I'm defending the decision just because I'm a United fan, Torres should have won, but people have to admit that the games he has played a part in he has been very good considering hes 35 years old! Goal against West Ham being a prime example.
Agreed though, maybe not worthy of this award but its things like this that stick in peoples minds when voting.
Having said all that, Torres has had another blinder of a season for you guys. Scored an awesome goal against Blackburn last month and made it look like he wasn't even trying.
