theres not alot of gain out of it true but i never said i was looking for big gains (you presume i'm some guy who thinks it will gain 100hp from a chip)! I do use the "chipped" one at present but for all i know the other one might have smooth power delivery and be better for my engine!

[Edited on 13-05-2009 by DRS]

ah right i see, your running an xe i just noticed so im intrested in the chip and delivery anyway so im all ears, apologies i thought you were some 12 year old who wanted to get +5 bhpz from a different ecu i would have thought the ecu would need to process and store data besides and if its not been activated its unlikely to be able to do that before going straight onto the RR anyway so will probably run like a bag of beans anyway. why not do it on 2 different days to allow the ecu to process and store some info through the rev range,

well i've had it rolling roaded once at a portable RR at a show with the "chipped" ecu (dunno to trust it but its given me a ball part figure)
i was going to RR it, then change it over and drive it for few miles or so, then it can adapt and learn the values and then RR it again. hopefully this will give me some idea.

I know the ECU has been chipped as i have Proof and RR print out when it was done. The engine is out of my mk2 astra GTE but since then the engine was stood for 3 years, same with the ecu until i done my conversion to the corsa

i agree with lee and i will openly hold my hands up and say that the reponse to anything lee says has the word torque in it, its getting a bit old now isnt it, besides having driven and been in the lesser spec of lee's car, theyre fucking good cars

seriously? your unlikely to get huge gains over "swapping" ecu's specially as it would need mapping anyway

I could put a mugen ecu on my stock S2k and gain power...

I think it's pretty logical for the guy wanting to swap ecu's and seeing if it makes any diff! better than fitting it and being clueless.

Tbf I looked it up and it has 131lb/ft if I found the right engine, compared to Lee's 133lb/ft it's pretty close

No need for 'rolleyes' or 'I'm not a dick' comment.

No, a mugen ecu, same as the spoon ecu is not a 3d mappable engine management. It's a replacement ecu with mapped values. You have to buy a AMS or something equiv if you want a mappable ecu for a s2k.

http://www.inlinefour.com/mugentyperecu.html
http://www.tokyo-express.co.uk/spoon/sports_computer.php.htm

'The Spoon ECU features advanced fuel and timing maps to compensate for advanced modifications made to the vehicle'

No different to having a superchip on your 2.0 16v ecu.

Fucking hell, once again clueless dan295.

youve gone so far off the topic were talking about DRS's xe which in my eyes was quite civilised, when you brought a personal attack into it thats unneccessary, i imagine the mugen ecu comes with a base map, i doubt that it will be plug and play like you are suggesting but obviously paul you know all, i dont understand the problem you have with "clueless dan295"
