Just found out why the car is suppppper soft It's honestly softer than standard...

Basically, the coilovers have adjustment from soft to hard - 30 clicks of adjustment... They told me it was 'in the middle'... So i expected 15.

I checked it out tonight, and it was only 5 clicks from Super soft

Tried it on full hard (30 clicks) and it was stiff... then tried it on 15 clicks all round (in the midlde) and it's good

Much better

Just shows how good the coilovers are, that you can have it setup for road soft and track hard.

What make are they? Ive got Gaz on the VX and they are like that, with an adjuster that runs from softer than standard to actual solid, im sure the dampers are just 'locked' when its on the hardest setting

They're BC Racing... really top looking piece of kit. 3 way adjustable... Can change height, can change compression of spring (seperate) and can change damping...

http://www.bc-racing.co.uk/

I would've thought the springs made a car soft or hard tho? So weird that it's all about the damping? ... will the gas eventually leak out and become less stiff or something? will adjusting it often cause it to wear out faster?

The spring sets the height iirc and the compression and rebound settings control the rate at which the spring can compress or 'bounce' back

To do it right, you should weigh each corner of the car to get your spring poundage. Have you put it on scales to set them correctly or guessed it?

I'm gutted tho

my idle valve is broken and the car is revving its nuts off when I'm driving it, all over the place. Horrible in traffic.

£320 for a new one, so I ordered a 2nd hand one £88... from a breakers...

A throttle body with a throttle sensor and a map sensor has just arrived - NO IDLE VALVE FFS.

looks ok, if a little un-even. The arch gap on the rear is a lot more than the front.

There are some spreadsheets about online that you can use to set up your suspension properly. Ideally you need some damper curves from a damper dyno to set your damping though.

I'm tempted to try set it up myself. I can feel what it's doing.... Feels like it's stiffer on the front than the rear (I hope they weren't the 12kg springs on the front that Rob B was gonna get ) ... So the car washes out a bit...

Overall even with damping the car feels a bit soft, so I think I'm wanting some compression on all 4 springs - this should make it a bit more stiffer / more responsive and lower it a tad more.

Then I think i'll just 'fine tune' the rest on the damping...

At the moment, you turn in, and it feels like a slight delay before the car responds, even with the damping a bit stiffer.
