Poole is quite common, 158th most used in Britain, it's weird that it's the 9th most common surname in Stoke though, my dads business has been going for over 100 years, first in Stoke and then moved up hanley when they built the a500 on the old yard behind my nans
Does anyone know where the name comes from though? Can't say I've ever traced it back
