lol i have paid....

£2400..25...94 WRX..0 No claims..That was 240 a month FFS Well worth it though as i was earning a good wedge then and didn't matter much.
£1500..26..1 years NC..95 WRX
£1000..27 2 Years NC..96 WRX with 320 BHP

and now i pay £500 for my UK Classic 28 3 years NC

The thing is with the Specialist companys i mentioned mate is they they know scoobys inside and out etc. They will quote good for other cars of course but they are just great at quoting scoobys.

£500 is a lot to insure an old scoob when you're 28, not a chance i'd be paying that.

£1080, bad postcode, mods, and 1 year NCB. Was nearer the 2 grand mark last year when I got her.

I guess I could phone around and probably get a few quids knocked off on the insurance. Would a £6k RX7 be any good?

Can't judge that way.

Need to go and see them, get all the details etc. I paid over 6k for mine and it still went tits up. You have two options:

Buy a runner and budget for a rebuild.

Or, buy one with a blown motor (looking around 2k) and get the engine rebuilt (3-5k). So you have one you know the history of which will come warrantied too.

I like the second option actually. I guess it would hold its value fairly well if it had a proper re-build and I kept it tidy. I don't see myself needing to drive many miles over the next few years so I really want something fun!

I need to see some people in Coventry sometime, if youre still after one then I'll take you out.

And they're not AS bad as people make out on fuel, so long as you keep the revs under second turbo territory...

If I did it again I'd go option two as well.

Let me know when you're about. They could be an option, and seem a bit more fun than a 1.9 Punto

I don't know anyone who's owned one and not loved the performance and handling. It's the peripherals that annoy people.

More fun than an Atom...

Oh Stu don't you start being a dick like everyone else on here i need you somtimes for your maturity and wiseness....you know what i mean by a specialised car.A lot of insurance companys now 'Specialise' in a particular type of car, for example the 2 companys i posted both know them inside and out and Rob at A Plan and Gary at Keith Micheals both own scoobys and both companys give the lowest quotes out of any other company for the guys off Scoobynet...SIDC etc etc on Impreza's.

I'm getting a bit sick of having to explain myself with every post on here lately

True mate. The UK cars are a LOT cheaper to insure but can easy reach the power of the WRX's with little cash.
