if your car was all declared and legit i'd get it back and strip all your bits off and put it on a mk1 rallye.
if they offer you peanuts for it send in autotrader adverts showing how much it will cost to replace. if you must, look up previous case law "clarke v ardington" which states you must by law be put back in a position you were prior to the accident

The cam and pulley you wanted wasnt off that engine anyway, that was off his old 8v. Up to now the induction kit but depends what he can get off it. I never asked btw, he offered...
