I would spend £1m on a house
spend £1m on this, an Azimut 55 Evolution
then i would buy one of these when they come out (guessed at £200k)
this would be my daily driver (TDV8) (50k)
so thats 2.25m - leaves 2.75m
I would do flight training to be a commercial pilot, (£)75k
would invest a million into business.
leaves 1.675m
would sort my family out for lets say £1m
£675k for insurance, bills, hookers, fuel, and if it all goes pear shaped!
Havent thought about it much though

Stay at my house still.
Travel the world for the next 5 years, maybe popping home every so often. Do everything I could, see every sight I could, enjoy the world.
Then i'd make a choice where to live, which country.
Then I would design and build a property, with ouber garages.
Then I would purchase a few cheaper but fast nice cars, and buy loads of motorbikes, pitbikes, jetskis etc...
Then if funds permitted, build my own race track and lake (well if I didn't live in the UK, chances are you could afford it).
Designer clothes, and going to gnacy events and posh restaurants where celebs go really doesn't interest me at all.
Sort all the parents out, get Donnas lil broa car, and setup trust funds for him and other younger family members.
Sort all my friends out with new bikes

Your forgetting running costs of a boat. Most expensive thing you can buy and maintain. Plus mooring costs. Ever seen the fuel bill for a boat too.
But advantages = Pussy!!!

First off, invest as much as possible to live off interest / dividends very comfortably, £40k a year would cover everything?
Build me and missus tailor made home, with enough garage space for 10 cars and probably 10 motorbikes.
Then I would want to make sure parents house is either paid off, or buy them one they want, same with missus parents, and my younger sister (18, no pics ) and a trust fund for my youngest sister (8).
Each would have a new car for getting round with, and enough money invested away so they could live off interest / divs but still work if they want to.
Probably not much left?
edit - I hate these threads, they come up once a month and every time you type this shit out you know its never going to happen

So you're going to both invest it to live off the interest, and spend it all....

Buy or build a house. Few new cars. Pay off girlfriends Uni fees. Season tickets for Man United for all the family. Always fancied a motorboat of some sort but wouldn't be anything too big cos they get seriously expensive.
Buy parents a new house and cars.
Still keep working where I am if possible but just have a very high standard of living and awesome holidays. Wouldn't fritter it all away.

I would buy a nice house and a few motors...Sort the family out!
manage off the interest
Make sure you dont keep the leftover cash up in the attic in case you need a bit of wiring done.

finish my house first; nice enough house; good base for the time being - pay off the mortgage.
£5million isn't enough to live a millionaires lifestyle on; you'd spend it all in no time so I'd carry on working to support a good life.
I'd carry on working but have a couple of good holidays a year; spend all of January/February in the Alps and a few weeks each summer somewhere hot
My one extravagance would be I'd design and build my own carbon hulled RIB.
and obviously new cars for me and the missus.

1 mil for parents
1 mil for brother.
0.5mil more than likely less tbh, split between rest of the family.
leaves me with 2.5mil which would go on a house and a nice car + daily driver the rest would be put in a bank. probably have to carry on working too.

Pay off mine and immediate family members debts
Sort family out with some cash
Buy a nice house and car here and back in Sydney
Buy decent computers
Put a large amount of money in savings and live off the interest
Invest a decent wedge into my business
