Also think about this...when you look up into the sky and gaze at all those thousands of billions of stars and think 'there must be life out there',
well remember that a very high majority of them will be stars (as in buring hot balls of gas with no life)
You cant actualy make out a lot of planets with the naked eye so imagine how many planets are out there circuling these stars that we cant see....

Anyone ever read Steven Hawkings : A brief history in time?
Fascinating read, if your into space stuff i would highly recommend it, can get a bit complicated at times but just stick with it. Some of the things he mentions can just blow your mind!

And actually go into space, and realise that what we can see down from earth is actually 1/100000000000 of the actual stars you can see when your up there!!!!

Gif related, kind of puts it in to perspective just how small our planet is.

when we look into the night sky, we can only see whats in our milky way..and then i think we are only going to be here a few years compared to the universe..and thats it, its a miracle we are here, we are born, we die, and get told what to do inbetween. thats life, thats all there is to it..

I dont see how they can get even a decent guesstimate at the size of some of those stars consdering how far away they are...

Bloody hell Dan! We aren't even substantial enough to be the shit on someone's shoe.
This sort of thing could drive one mad.
It's no wonder the Apollo mission astronauts came back changed men.

Fairly simple maths surely? They can measure the width of them from a certain distance, and they know how far away they are, so therefore can work out the actual size.

Yeh but how do they even measure distance when looking at objects so far away?
I mean when measuring in 'light years' for instance, when they are looking through a telescope how can they tell how many 'light years' something is away....
Complex stuff if you ask me

I thought he was on about real planets, didn't realise you lot were on the toy sized planet models.
