My mate texted me from Reading and said they announced it there.
They did have good songs back in the day which are still good now, but the recent stuff I wasn't impressed with.

Everyone seems confused.
One person has left, as far as I can tell the band hasn't split completely.
There's nothing to come back from if they don't split
However Noel can obviously come back whenever, depends what his reasons for leaving were.

disagree with you there mate. seen them at v last week n they were shithot as usuall. the best band of modern times imo
I saw them at V as well and thought they were pretty average. Liam is a massive toss pot agreed.

about 10 years too late.
they have done a few excellent songs, some good songs, but a lot of average ones over the last 10 years
oasis stopped being "oasis" for me when bonehead and guigs left in 99, compounded when whitey left in 2000 and whatever it was. add in that liam cant sing live now and dresses like a muppet and to be honest im glad its all over.
however you look at it though its the end of an era.

i agree with that. they used to be a great band. first 3 albums were crackers. i still liked their newer stuff. just none of it was sing along anthems like the older stuff. instant classics some of their old songs. new stuff not as much. ive still got the ticket from when i seen them play in 1995 at irvine beach in scotland. were amazing.

I think it's debatable to call Be Here Now a cracker, I thought it was shite at the time and still do.
The first 2 you can probably make a case for although What's The Story has a lot of filler on it.

Oasis have been shit for years. Good debut album, disappointing following up with 5 good songs on it. Joke of a third album which might as well have been labled Oasis play the Beatles. They've got worse ever since.
Anyone who plays a musical instrument also knows behind the catchy lyrics lies some very basic music, usually stolen from another band too.
Catchy though.

I love Oasis, their older stuff is fantastic. I reckon they will be back together but not for a couple of years.
Noels solo stuff may well be epic

As said they were burned out and probably should have called it a day sooner. I used to collect all their releases, every CD, DVD etc now im not arsed and probably couldnt name their last few songs.......
Im looking forward to Noel releasing some solo material and maybe touring himself doing new stuff mixed with some oasis classics. I'd pay good money to see that & hopefully you wouldnt get the usual scumbag's turn up like the last oasis gigs ive been to.
